Bachelors in Anthroplogy/Sociology from St. Olaf College (2017)

Masters in Elementary Education from St. Thomas University (2022)

E1 Montessori Certification (in progress) from Montessori Elementary Teacher Training Collaborative (2025)

Ms. Liza Dawley

My name is Liza Dawley and I am an E1 Teacher at Nokomis Montessori North. E1 is a multigrade classroom with 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade students. Students will be in my classroom for 3 years. The Montessori learning environment encourages responsibility, cooperation, respect, and independence.  Students will be grouped into small groups for their lessons on math, reading, and culture.

 

I grew up in Massachusetts before moving to Minnesota for college. My husband and I live with our two dogs and cat in Minneapolis. I have been working at Nokomis North since 2018, as a Restorative Practices Coordinator, E1 student teacher, Art Specialist and now E1 teacher. Outside of school, I love to ski, hike, read and enjoy the ocean with my family. I am looking forward to having a great time teaching and learning with your child this school year.
