Ms. Lynnette

Hello! My name is Lynnette Medcalf. Students call me Ms. Lynnette. I have been a licensed social worker for nearly 20 years and have worked in many different settings throughout my career; but school social work has been one of my most enjoyable roles yet! I am also a mom to two amazing and fun teenage girls who keep me on the go! When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with family & friends, going on nature walks, listening to books & music, traveling, and experiencing the arts whenever possible.

I love my role as a school social worker because I have the honor and privilege to support students during their most formative years. I do this in a number of ways: facilitating social skills groups, individual interventions, and consultation and collaboration with teachers. I also work with students and their families who may be experiencing a crisis or distress and need assistance coping and/or navigating and accessing resources. Another way I support students and families is by making referrals to Project Reach when a family is unhoused or doubled-up with friends and family. I also love helping families get connected to other resources in the community, so please do not hesitate to reach out!
