Nokomis North Compact
Nokomis Montessori, North Campus
2026-2027
Title I Family -School Compact
Nokomis Montessori Vision
Our school is based on the Montessori method: students learn at their own pace in multi-grade classrooms, independently cultivating their interests and natural abilities.
Nokomis Montessori Mission
Through collaboration, Montessori methodology, culturally relevant instruction, and aligned staff development, Nokomis will provide a learning environment that nurtures successful guided learning for every student.
What is a Family-School Compact?
A Family-School Compact for Achievement is an agreement that parents, students and teachers develop together. It explains how parents and teachers will work together to make sure all students get the individual support needed to reach and exceed grade-level standards.
Nokomis Montessori Goals
- Reading: Montessori teachers will collaborate with literacy intervention and English Learner teachers to provide daily, direct small group reading instruction for students reading below grade level as measured by FAST (reading assessment) data.
- Math: Montessori teachers will implement Montessori math scope and sequence as measured by ongoing team meetings.
English Language in the Mainstream: Licensed staff will utilize ELM strategies and explicitly teach academic language in the content areas to accelerate learning as measured by walkthroughs.
Climate: All staff will plan for and implement Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Restorative Practice Community Building Circles, peace corner components, with Zones of Regulation and other de-escalation strategies that support social emotional learning, which will increase student engagement in the learning environment.
